Bolivian Jeep Tour, day 1
The main thing I was looking forward to in Bolivia was the 4 day Jeep trek. I did not know a ton about it beforehand. I knew that every traveler I met who was heading to Bolivia, was heading there for this trek. I also knew I would end up at Salar De Uyuni (the world’s largest salt flat) at some point during the journey. I do not know exactly what I expected, but I did not expect Bolivia to be filled with so much natural beauty. My trek from Tupiza to Uyuni was absolutely one of the coolest things I have ever done. Visiting the Provence of Jujuy, Argentina
I am sad to report that this is my final blog post of Argentina (for now). This region has something for everyone. A big city, a rich historical background, and unimaginable natural beauty. You can enjoy the hustle and bustle of San Salvador de Jujuy, hike incredible mountain trails, horse-back ride through Pacha Mama (Mother-Nature), salivate over traditional regional foods, be enchanted by the many charming little towns, and feed your knowledge by visiting historical sites.

Route 68, from Salta to Cafayate
If you find yourself in the provence of Salta, Argentina, I suggest you take this beautiful drive between the small town of Cafayate and the Capital city of Salta. I took a day trip from Salta with my new amigo, Gal. Cafayate is a lovely little pueblo to wander around and visit local wineries. But the highlight of this excursion is the road itself. Salta, Argentina – The City
Salta is both a provence, and a city in Argentina. The city is a great central location for exploring the natural beauty of the region. I enjoyed the city very much. The main plaza reminded me a lot of being in Europe, with it’s ornate architecture and cobblestone streets. The churches are all painted beautiful colors adding to the picturesque atmosphere in Salta. I also loved that the city was small and walkable, with everything easily accessible. Mendoza, Argentina
I had an absolutely fantastic time in Mendoza. The city itself was a nice, walkable town filled with shops, parks, and the most amazing food market (more like a flea market for various food vendors). Iguazu Falls, Argentina
The Iguazu Falls are one of many reasons why I chose South America. Maybe a year and half ago, when my life was still normal, I remember googling amazing places to visit. When I came across images of the falls, I looked at my now ex-boyfriend and said “I want to go here”. The images stood out in my mind ever since. The Macuco Trail at Iguazu Falls, Argentina
For day 2 of my Iguazu adventures, I actually did not go to “the” falls. Instead I chose to take a day to wander Senedero Macuco. A nature trail which takes about an hour to reach the solo Salta Arrechea waterfall. This is the one place in the park where visitors have the opportunity to swim. The trail also provides an opportunity for viewing wildlife like capuchin monkeys, rare birds, lizards, unusual insects and masses of butterflies.
