I HIGHLY recommend scrolling to the bottom and just watching the work of pure of genius. But for those of you too lazy to watch a 5.5 min video – Here is a partial transcript from my most recent masterpiece, Northern Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes, Brought to you by Team Sloth:
Sleeping Bear Dunes is a beautiful natural gem tucked away on the coast of Lake Michigan in Michigan’s northern lower Peninsula. Continue reading “Sleeping Bear Dunes”
One of the most interesting things about traveling is learning things you don’t expect. The first time I travelled overseas (to Italy 5 years ago) I was surprised to come across stray dogs. And then again in Turkey. Each place I visit seems to have a different approach and philosophy about our furry friends.
For my final day in Bolivia, I wanted to take a closer look into the region’s ancient history. Tiwanaku is the site of a once thriving Pre-Columbian civilization that died out long before it’s discovery by Spaniards in the mid 1500’s.
La Paz is a crazy, fascinating city. I was reminded while wandering the streets of La Paz of a quote from the movie Clueless that I think describes the city perfectly. “She’s a full-on Monet… It’s like the painting, see? From far away, it’s okay, but up close, it’s a big old mess”.
The Pampas – another difficult post for narrowing down photos to share. I have a hard time weeding through the wild-life photos.

I do not believe that I can give an honest assessment of what the city of Sucre is like. It would be like a tourist in New York spending 5 days in the city without ever leaving midtown, except to visit upstate for a day. This is essentially what my time was like in Sucre. I spent entire days only in the city center. I can however say that I really enjoyed my time in Sucre, and if my travel time was not becoming increasingly limited, I would have like to spend a lot more time there. I think it may be my favorite of the big cities I have visited in South America so far.
The final day of the the Uyuni jeep trek did not disappoint. This day was dedicated to the famous Salar de Uyuni. The Salar is the world’s largest salt flat and one of Bolvia’s main tourism attractions.
Day 3 was another incredible day. Many people doing the Uyuni tour end in 3 days. I am very glad I chose a 4 day trip because this was not an experience I would have wanted to rush, and I would not have wanted to miss out on anything I did and saw (although, in truth I ran into traveler’s from the 3 day trip that were ready to be done on day 3).
