Arequipa was my “Welcome to Peru” city. I had heard from repeated backpackers that the city center was really lovely, and that the nearby Colca Canyon was something that shouldn’t be missed on a good tour of Peru. So of course, I headed straight there. Continue reading “Arequipa & Colca Canyon, Peru”

Copacabana & Isla Del Sol, Bolivia
This was an incredible way to say goodbye to Bolivia after an incredible 3 months (4 if you count last year). I love this country beyond words! For my the final leg of my Bolivian journey, I visited Copacabana and Isla Del Sol. Continue reading “Copacabana & Isla Del Sol, Bolivia”
Rurre, Bolivia – Return to the Jungle
When I was preparing for my second big South American adventure, many people asked me if I planned to revisit anywhere I had already been. For the most part, I was only interested in seeing new things. But there was one place I absolutely had my heart set on to revisit: Rurrenabaque, Bolivia. From the moment I left this town last year, I knew I hadn’t had enough. I needed more of the charming small town, more of the beautiful local people, and more of the Amazon. Continue reading “Rurre, Bolivia – Return to the Jungle”
The Pampas
The Pampas – another difficult post for narrowing down photos to share. I have a hard time weeding through the wild-life photos. Continue reading “The Pampas”
The Jungle – The Bolivian Amazon
I do not even know how to begin this post. It has been a week since my 3 days in the jungle – and I feel like I haven’t fully left it. This was undoubtedly one of the top highlights of my travels. And I will definitely be returning for more. Continue reading “The Jungle – The Bolivian Amazon”
Pumamachay and Incamachay
From Sucre (click to read about my time in the city), it is possible to venture out of the city to visit breathtaking mountainscapes. I debated between hiking to see dinosaur footprints, or rock paintings. I opted for the rock-painting hike, but I would have done both if I had more time. Continue reading “Pumamachay and Incamachay”
Bolivian Jeep Tour, Day 2
Day 2, more beauty, more mountains, more deserts, more alpacas, fewer trees, fewer and fewer and fewer signs of life. I was actually quite astounded by the complete lack of human touch that stretched on for hours and hours, days in fact. Continue reading “Bolivian Jeep Tour, Day 2”
Bolivian Jeep Tour, day 1
The main thing I was looking forward to in Bolivia was the 4 day Jeep trek. I did not know a ton about it beforehand. I knew that every traveler I met who was heading to Bolivia, was heading there for this trek. I also knew I would end up at Salar De Uyuni (the world’s largest salt flat) at some point during the journey. I do not know exactly what I expected, but I did not expect Bolivia to be filled with so much natural beauty. My trek from Tupiza to Uyuni was absolutely one of the coolest things I have ever done. For this post, I will share my experience from Day 1 of 4. Continue reading “Bolivian Jeep Tour, day 1”
Visiting the Provence of Jujuy, Argentina
I am sad to report that this is my final blog post of Argentina (for now). This region has something for everyone. A big city, a rich historical background, and unimaginable natural beauty. You can enjoy the hustle and bustle of San Salvador de Jujuy, hike incredible mountain trails, horse-back ride through Pacha Mama (Mother-Nature), salivate over traditional regional foods, be enchanted by the many charming little towns, and feed your knowledge by visiting historical sites.

Tilcara, Jujuy, Argentina
Tilcara, Tilcara, Tilcara… Where do I even begin? I arrived here on the 21st of April with the intention of staying for 3 nights on my way to Bolivia. A month later, I am begrudgingly preparing to leave this charming little pueblo tomorrow. This town truly is special, and as many other’s have described it, “magical”.
