Hi, I’m Rachel.  I used to think I had life fairly figured out.  Then I lost my mother and found out my long-term live-in boyfriend was an asshole.  So I figured, fuck whatever I was doing before, I should travel.  So I am.

In my dark days of loss, I found light at the end of the tunnel in the form of exploring the world. I channelled my grief into solo-backpacking, writing, learning photography, drawing and learning Spanish. Get Lost & Be Found is a direct result.

I realize it all sounds like the set up to a cheesy hallmark movie about self discovery and empowerment.  But now, a couple years deep into this crazy adventure, it seems that a crappy beginning can shape up to be a pretty exceptional story.  I am not exactly sure what I was looking for when this all began… but I am undoubtedly finding it.

WORLD

This site focuses on my travel adventures and offers suggestions to help other wanderers. Occasionally I get real and write about traveling with grief, or traveling with a chronic illness. It is my deepest hope that this site can offer inspiration, entertainment, a little worldly education, and a few good travel tips.

Keep up with me if you’re curious as to how my journey will unfold. I know I am.
